This simplistically beautiful book by Barbara Ann Kipfer demonstrates how to enjoy and embrace the little things in life. From high-gloss white paint to wading knee-deep in fallen leaves, the novel touches upon every thing you could think of. Let’s focus on the little things that make us happy rather than waiting for something “big" to happen. 

 

What I love about the way Kipfer writes is that she describes actions, places, and ordinary objects, just your average nouns, in such a relatable way. That's what makes this long list of “happy things” an incredible read. Within its 612 pages, 14,000 things to be happy about are carefully illustrated in order for the reader to reach a state of tranquility. Personally, I have read through the entirety of the book with a few highlighters in hand. I went through line by line, selecting the things that made me happy. Now, after reading, I believe I’ve discovered a new view on life and all it has to offer. Take life one day at a time and b attentive the world around you. You don’t want to miss out on it.
